Collection: The silence of the dunes

In the photo series “The Silence of the Dunes,” coastal landscapes are transformed into quiet, almost surreal pictorial spaces. Gently curving dunes, vast horizons, and fluid transitions between sky and landscape form the basis of minimalist, semi-abstract compositions.

The images deliberately move away from a true-to-nature representation. Landscape structures are reduced, shapes are simplified, and colors become independent design elements. Cool blues and delicate pastel tones meet intense red, warm orange, and the soft light of imaginary sunsets.

In the process, landscapes between reality and imagination emerge. At times, the dunes appear as clear, sculptural forms, while at others, their contours dissolve into soft color gradients. Isolated human silhouettes emphasize the vastness of the landscape and lend it an additional, contemplative dimension.

The focus of the series is not on the specific locations, but on the sensations they evoke: Silence, vastness, solitude, and the unique atmosphere of a landscape between land, sea, and sky.

“The Silence of the Dunes” is an artistic interpretation of the coastal landscape—reduced to the essential, characterized by a distinct language of color and form, and a quiet, surreal poetry.
