Sails in the Light

In my "Sails in Light" collection, the sailboat is reduced to its elementary visual signs: sail, mast, hull, horizon, and reflection. The consistent portrait format emphasizes the vertical movement of the sails and increasingly detaches the maritime motif from classical landscape representation.

Cool blue and gray tones meet orange as a recurring light and color accent. Some works remain closer to the representational, while others take the sail to the brink of abstract form. What they share is a silent, imaginary pictorial space between sea and abstraction, movement and calm, reality and surreal perception.
