Lines of Silence

"Lines of Silence" is a series of monochrome, minimalist, condensed landscapes. The starting point is the flowing forms of the Wadden Sea: tidal creeks, sandbanks, waterways, and individual maritime markers. Through artistic reduction, however, they increasingly detach from a specific location and become images about vastness, orientation, and inner movement.

Curved lines lead through open spaces, disappear on the horizon, or encounter isolated human traces. Boats, posts, and figures appear as silent reference points in a landscape between water and land, proximity and distance, departure and contemplation.

The works are conceived as a coherent sequence of images. Individually, they maintain their quiet presence; in diptychs or triptychs, their lines and forms enter into a visual dialogue with each other (See examples below)
